Programs

Infants

Our infant teachers provide opportunities for exploring, learning, and social interaction through a variety of daily activities.  Infants will be free to crawl, cruise, and toddle around the Station, and will always be supervised by a professional.

Teaching sing songs and read stories to encourage language development.  They also have activities that foster large and small muscle development throughout the day both indoors and outdoors, weather permitting.  Teachers work with the parents to ensure a balanced schedule between home and school.  They work together to develop the child's daily routine including nap times, play times and bottle times.

Toddlers

At KLS, toddlers have a daily balance of quiet activities, music & movement, and outdoor exploration.  Special Learning Centers are always open for creative play: exploring blocks, puzzles, and arts & crafts.  Circle time incorporates stories and songs that help develop language skills and social skills.  During the day, toddlers will be guided to explore various activities that encourage gross motor skills and fine motor skills.

Pre-Kindergarten

Pre-Kindergarten consists of children that are four years of age and will be starting kindergarten the following fall.  The emphasis is to prepare children for kindergarten in accordance to the Illinois State Standards.  We focus on reading, writing and math readiness skills.  Children master the alphabet, numbers, days of the week and month recognition.  Even though this is a more academic based program, children still learn daily through play, music, stories and circle time.  The class follows a weekly them that art projects and other activities are based on.
